The 6218-C4 deep groove ball bearing is a standardized component (inner diameter 90 mm, outer diameter 160 mm, width 30 mm) that, due to its properties – especially its increased bearing clearance (C4) – is primarily used in the drive components of rail vehicles. In locomotives, these bearings are mainly used in the following areas:
1. Traction motors

The NU326-E-M1-F1-C4 cylindrical roller bearing is a highly specialized bearing primarily used in the drive systems of railway vehicles. The F1 designation explicitly indicates that the bearing was manufactured according to specific production and testing specifications for traction motors in railway vehicles (e.g., according to DIN 43283). Used for :
* Traction motors: Here, it typically serves as a floating bearing to compensate for axial displacements caused by thermal expansion of the motor shaft.
* Gearboxes: To absorb high radial forces at high speeds.
* Axle guides/wheelset bearings: In certain bogie designs, used to support the wheelsets.
