Offered for sale: a 3-piece fleet of track construction equipment 2 x SKL KLV 53 1 x MZG One of the combined transport vehicles (CTVs) has a certified automatic stopping system, allowing it to operate on open track. The other CTV was used in tunnel construction and is also equipped with a particulate filter (or soot filter). The second CTV does not have an automatic stopping system and can only be used on closed track. The same applies to the multi-purpose vehicle (MZG). All three were purchased from the same German company and completely refurbished. During their operational life, all necessary repairs and maintenance were carried out. Description SKL KLV 53 The Klv 53 heavy-duty railcar is a utility vehicle used for track construction and maintenance work. From 1963 onwards, the German Federal Railway (Deutsche Bundesbahn) procured a total of 824 of these vehicles, making it the most produced service vehicle of any German state railway. As is typical of its design, the Klv 53 was primarily used in track construction and the maintenance of railway infrastructure. Compared to older models, the large cab and greater payload capacity facilitated the transport of workers and materials. The more powerful loading crane made transferring materials easier, and the hydraulic system allowed for the use of various attachments on the crane arm. Additional attachments were also available for specialized tasks, such as the application of herbicides. Description MZG Mehrzweckgerät The MZ 102 multi-purpose track maintenance vehicles are heavy auxiliary vehicles, approximately 150 of which were built between 1974 and 1991 by the Blankenburg Research and Development Plant for the German State Railway (Deutsche Reichsbahn, DR). Four different versions exist. According to the German State Railway's operating regulations, DV408, these multi-purpose track maintenance vehicles (or multi-purpose equipment) were classified as heavy auxiliary vehicles, Group C. This meant that, unlike the Skl (a type of track maintenance vehicle), they could operate on lines as train movements with main signal control and full protection via the track circuit. Behind the cab is a double-tipping loading platform with a payload capacity of five tons, whose side walls are foldable and can be replaced with inserts. At the rear is a hydraulic loading crane whose lifting height is mechanically limited to 4.5 meters to allow work to be carried out even when the overhead power lines are energized. Various grapples and other lifting tools can be used as accessories for the crane, and its rear-mounted position also allows for loading and unloading a trailer.
