On the roof is a pantograph for grounding and testing the overhead contact line, accommodating 2 x 4 50 mm² conductors laterally from the center position and extending from 4800 mm to 5500 mm in height. The roof is almost entirely covered by a hydraulically liftable and swiveling work platform. This platform can be loaded with up to 300 kilograms. It can be hydraulically extended to a height of 5.14 m above the top of the rail and swiveled to a distance of 3.85 m from the track axis. An observation platform and searchlights have also been installed on the roof.
